Interpreting Lab (6302)


The Interpreting Lab is specifically designed for students aspiring to excel in both consecutive and simultaneous interpreting, offering state-of-the-art tools to enhance their skills. The laboratory accommodates 25 students. The laboratory features are:

  1. Simultaneous Interpreting Booths: these booths provide an immersive environment for students to practice and refine their skills in interpreting live conferences and lectures.
  2. Consecutive Interpreting Stations: dedicated stations equipped for consecutive interpreting exercises, allowing students to develop proficiency in this interpretation mode.

 

Lab Equipment:

  • Sound-Proofed Booths: Meticulously designed to establish an optimal environment, fostering concentration and focus during interpretation sessions.
  • Conference Interpreting Systems: Integrated into each booth, these systems offer students hands-on experience with industry-standard equipment.
  • Monitors: Each sound-proof booth is equipped with monitors to enhance visual communication and interaction during interpreting exercises.
  • Interpreting Consoles: Two consoles per booth, complete with headphone jacks and microphones, providing students with a practical setup for simultaneous interpretation practice.
  • Consecutive Interpreting Stations: Specifically designed stations for consecutive interpreting exercises, enhancing students' proficiency in this mode of interpretation.
  • Debating Table: This features delegate consoles, including microphones, simulating real-world scenarios to enhance group discussion skills.
  • Video Conferencing Equipment: Two TVs and a screen to facilitate remote interpreting exercises, connecting students with global events and expanding their practical experience.
  • Smart Board: This interactive tool serves as a platform for collaborative learning and visualization of interpreting concepts.
